A league with 100% payout? How can that be?
For 1996 I am making a league as an experiment for a possible commercial
venture later. That means you don't get charged for stats services for one
year. The payout will be as follows:
45% to 1st place Conference Winner
25% to 2nd place Conference Winner
20% to 3rd place Conference Winner
10% to the Overall League Champion Prize Monies
(Overall monies divided 50% for 1st, 30% for 2nd, 20% for 3rd)
There will be 8-10 teams per conference and 5 conferences per league.
Since this year's operating expenses are out of my pocket I will limit the
entries to one league (50 participants max).
The entry fee is $20. Thus a full league (5 10-team conferences) would pay
out $90 for 1st, $50 for 2nd, and $40 for 3rd in each conference plus $50
for overall 1st, $30 for overall 2nd, and $20 for overall 3rd.
How do you play? All you have to do is pick one team to win for the week.
No point spreads involved. If you think Dallas is going to win that week
send me a message saying "Dallas Cowboys-Week 1 Winner". It's that easy!
I will keep track of how many misses you have during the season. Whoever
has the least amount of misses wins. Tiebreaker is whoever went the
longest before getting their last miss.
For example for one miss:
Ed misses only once, during week 12
Kelly misses only once, during week 10
Ed wins the tiebreaker since it took him longer to miss.
If both people miss the same week then we will go into the playoffs to try
to determine a winner.
For example for two misses:
Charles misses twice, during week 4 and week 11
Ann misses twice during week 6 and week 8
Charles wins the tiebreaker since it took him longer to get miss #2.
If both people get miss #2 the same week we will use miss #1 as a
tiebreaker. If both misses were the same weeks then we will go into the
playoffs to try to determine a winner.
Three misses and your out for the season. (Sorry, 3 strikes your out in
Current results will be posted on Wednesday each week to my web page.
