World Class, Booze Enhanced Pick 'em Show-Week 1

Welcome back, my friends to the show that never ends.

So, anything interesting happen during the off-season?

Digging into the archive it was brought to my attention that this will
be the tenth year I've written this feature.

What the hell is wrong with me?

Break out the ***s and blow-It's week 1!

Georgia Tech at ***ia Tech
-----------------------------

Kicking off things is a Coastal division throwdown with the winner
staking an early claim to get blitzed by Clemson in the ACC Title game 3
months from now. The Bugs are always a threat due to the Creepy Ninja
Football factor-I can't however dismiss Turkey Tech as a bit of a
sleeper. VT's schedule, whilst not SEC soft, is nicely set up with the
major bumps being back to back game with the ACC's Florida delegation in
November. Turkeys take a nice step towards an Orange Bowl bid.

GOBBLE!GOBBLE! over BUZZ!BUZZ! 27-20
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Vols over Pack 21-14
Heels over Phoenix 30-3
Terps over Tribe 43-0
Noles over Racers 55-10
Duke over FIU 28-17
Cavs over Itsy-Bitsy 28-7
Ibis over Eagles 35-20
Deacons over Falwell's 40-0
Clemson over SEC Also Ran #1 30-20
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kentucky at Louisville

And no one named Pitino in sight. This is better matchup in December
than September. But it's also the best option out of the Big East.
Everyone else is warming up.

Pitino over Judd 31-17
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
UCONN over UMASS (welcome to 1-A) 35-7
Owls over Nova 24-13
Orange over Purple 24-21
Bulls over Mocs 62-7
Pitt over Penguins 55-6
Knights over Wave 31-15
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Michigan vs Alabama

I for the life of me don't know. I want to think that with another year
of recruiting and coaching, Michigan might just be back enough to make
me believe that ther won't get the "Ohio State" treatment from an SEC
foe. I want to think that losing so much to the NFL, that the Bammer
defense will take a step back. Blitzing the Children of the Corn and
finally ending that Buckeye Curse is one thing, but agreeing to take on
a professional football team to start the season? That's just
***ic. Oh, well, there's still the Big Number title to win.

Bammer over Blue 35-21
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bowlless Bucks over Miami (OH) 42-10
Illi over Bronco High 24-17
Badgers over NoIowa 52-3
penn state over Ohio 17-13
Corn over SoMiss 37-14
Iowa over NoIll 28-24
Boilers over Colonels 42-10
Broncos over Sparties 30-24
Hoosiers over Sycamores 10-7
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ok, a bit of break from form here, as the following teams are going the
pastry route so: K-State, Texas Tech, Okie State, Kansas, ECU, Memphis,
CMU, Kent, Air Force, Fresno, New Mexico, Utah, Sun Devils,Beavers, FAU,
La-Cajun, MTSU, WKU, Missy State, Mizzou, Missy Sippy, Bacon Bits,
Idaho, Utah State and New Mexico State all enjoy large servings of
dessert and start 2012 1-0
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Marshall at West ***ia

In the Geographically challenged Bowl, New Big Whatever member West
***ia kicks off against the Herd.

That's it. There's not much else.

Looking at a Map over Looking at 0-1 38-16
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Cows over Pokes 42-7
Cyclones over Hurricanes 23-14
Boomer Sooner over UTEP 52-7
Baylor over SMU 35-31
Orlando over Akron 33-27
Bruins over Rice 16-13
Troy over UAB 21-14
Houston over Texas State 45-0
Middies over Leprechauns 24-17
Cougs over Coogs 27-10
EMu over Ball State 26-13
Bulldogs over Bulls 44-3
Zona over Rockets 45-10
Swampfoot over Falcons 31-7
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hawaii at USC

Weren't the scholarship cuts supposed to hurt the Troj?

Guess not.

Fight On.

Troj over Aloha 56-20
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Buffs over Rams 22-21
Cal over Nevada 27-20
Puppies over Aztecs 23-13
Stanford over San Jose (No Luck needed) 35-6
Duckies over Arkie State 72-6
UT-San Antonio over USA!USA! 31-20
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
North Texas at LSU

Guess Honey Badger can't take EVERYTHING he wants.

LSU over UNT 58-3
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
***s over Commodores 17-9
Aggies over Techsters 28-25

Ok, that's it. First week back is always toughest. No one has pissed me
off yet, so there's little vitriol.

No idea, but this feature is one of the things right about RSFC, and
reason enough to come back if only to lurk... glad to see it back!

If Tech had played A&M tonight, there's a good chance the score would have been something like 12-9.  The slopfest isn't happening though--the game is rescheduled to October.

Eh, NCSU might actually be good this year, and Tennessee
hasn't been much lately.  Wolfpack 27-21.

Skeed pills.  Duke loses another opener in a heartbreaker.
Three months from now, Duke would win this game, but
it isn't three months from now.  Too many big plays for
FIU.

well if builemia can keep his guys sober the night before... unlike a
certain OTHER B1G team... that should be accurate.

I wish! Arkansas State is a pretty good team with a new coach who has
experience playing Oregon. If the Ducks can win 42-21 I'll be
satisfied.

FEER THE RED WOLFES!!!1!11  Well, they do have a new coach and I have no idea
how many players return, but they've been one of those better-than-you-think
teams for the past couple years.  They don't have the depth or athleticism to
hang with Oregon, but it wouldn't surprise me if this game shows up as an Upset
Alert on espn.com's scoreboard at some point.  Maybe when Oregon's up 10-7 early
in the 2nd quarter.  Now that I said that bet large on Oregon.

about the booze enhanced part.
