From Dr. Brent "Doc" Rushall:

I added to the Swimming Science Journal Home Page

http://www-rohan.sdsu.edu/dept/coachsci/swimming/index.htm

the link to US Swimming's Harris poll on the bodysuits, which is currently
running at 30% for the suits.

Please take a moment to vote.

P.S. Here's the direct URL to the voting site (though I strongly recommend a
visit to the Swimming Science Journal, for a wealth of great sports science
pertaining to swimming):

Vote totals as of 3:45 PM Pacific Daylight time, Thursday, 6-15-00:

HARRIS/USA SWIMMING WEEKLY POLL

Should the full body suit be allowed in the Olympics?

Yes - It is just another way of adding e***ment to competitive swimming. 247
of 882 votes ? 28%

*No - Allowing the suit would demean the sport, similar to allowing cork
baseball bats. 493 of 882 votes? 55%

Unsure - It might be thrilling to see its impact on swimming, but is it really
fair to current record-holders? 142 of 882 votes? 16%

Remember to go to the polls:

It is preferable to swim in one's bare skin, as nature intended.

The Harris poll was changed to asking for an opinion on whether a Yank will
get a gold in the next 10 years.

Had I caught the poll, I would vote no on the bodysuit issue.

As far as that link at the top, I took a quick visit to that site. Pretty
cool.

Everyone has some good input. However, I've discovered recently,
that most goggles CAN work. I'm a small woman, 98lbs, and goggles

I've gotten VERY fond of the TYR softframe, all one piece. The size
of the entire goggle tends to be smaller than Speedo, and also, when
they get old, I just turn them upside down, and they fit perfect. Sounds
stupid doesn't it?

Also, if you have the split strap, the top one should be HIGH on your head
to keep pressure in the right place.

I've also taken to wearing a Jr. version. They fit fine, sometimes the strap
is too small though.

I hate that *** hard plastic nose piece that Speedo uses, as well as other
swim brands. It breaks, it pokes me in the nose, you name it!!

Good Luck.
Happy Swimming.
