Ringing Ears!

Ringing Ears!

Has anyone had a very negative experience with horns that are mounted
under the diving blocks?

I would really like to know, so that I can convince the people who hold our
conference championships not to use them during any of the backstroke events.

Several of the backstrokers at relay meet held there recently, suffered from
ringing ears, and dizziness when a fellow backstroker falsed, and they were
set off.  They're okay for just a start, but for false starts on backstroke it
really hurts the ears!

Try to get the event organizers to read posts in

    alt.support.tinnitus,

they might see the light. There are *many* stories in that forum about
hearing damage due to loud noises.

Good luck,
