an SMU Freshman from Sweden, tied the U.S. Open Record for Men's
100 Yard Butterfly. The record time of 46.26 seconds was set by Pablo
Morales swimming for Stanford in Indianapolis in 1986, which is also the
current American record. (A U.S. Open record is the fastest time by
any swimmer, American or foreign, achieved in the US.)
It wouldn't surprise me if he breaks the record at NCAAs. He said that
he's used to swimming meters, and hasn't gotten used to so many turns.
