Looking for stopwatch

Post by Markus Sperze » Sun, 17 May 1998 04:00:00

Hi,

I'm looking for a stopwatch with "stroke-per-minute"
facility, but can't find one (except Seiko, which seems
to be very expensive).

Are there any other brands that offer this facility?
How much are those stopwatches?

Thanks for every response!

Markus

Markus,

Try these folks.  So far the have most everything, but it's not all on
the page.  I call the 800 number and ask for EJ, he is most helpful.

Hope that helps

Speedo makes a wrist watch with electrical "terminals" that sense each
time your hand enters and leaves the water.  It spits out strokes per
minute, stroke efficiency (based on the distance you tell it you went),
etc.  I believe it lists for $99 but look around, I got one for $40 from
Jumbo Sports during a store shutdown.

It is called the Speedo Stroke Monitor.  I use one and find that it helps me
focus on becoming more efficient (increasing distance per stroke).  However,
be aware that there are two models, the competition and fitness models.  You
should check the features of both before you buy.
