New silicone caps usually have talcum powder inside, and when put on dry
hair will pop or slide off easily. However, if you wet the inside of the
cap and put it on dry hair, it's less likely to fall off.
I wasn't aware that it was the cap on wet hair that did the damage to
hair. I assumed any exposure to chlorine did the damage. There are some
shampoo formulas available for chlorine damaged hair.
