Pacific Masters Swimming SC champs - hints of things to come

Pacific Master Swimming Short Course Yards Championships will be held
April 23-25 at Stanford.  Last night we finished processing the
entries and have tallied a total of 920 entrants.  This is going
to be the biggest championship meet that PMS has had, ever.  And
if this is any indication it probably means that the Santa Clara
short course nationals (in May) is also going to be a big meet.

good luck to all...

If meets just keep getting bigger and bigger are we
headed for mandatory qualifying times for all the
events you enter at USMS Nationals?

What do netters think about the current system? You
can enter 3 events without qualifying but the next
three you must qualify for. Any prediction about
whether or not this will have the desired effect?

I remeber the 88 World Masters Championships in Brisbane
Australia where there were 100 heats of men and 100 heats
of women in the 100 meter Free.  That one event took all
day (and most of the evening, too!).

Ask me on May 24th, after we've tried this method once.
