having trouble

Hello.  I have practice from 4:00 to 6:00 PM about 3/week and I've noticed for
the past 2 weeks ONLY on nights I go to practice, I cannot sleep.  I mean I try
everything, drinking milk, reading, taking an ibuprofen (advil). Last night was
one of these such nights and I finally fell asleep after lying down on the
couch at around 3:00 AM.  I do not know what to do or the cause of this
problem.  I have not changed my diet recently and I'm not drinking caffeine or
anything before bed it just seems like around 9:00 I have all this restless
energy.  The only thing I can figure out is my heart rate is too high or
something.  But please if you've experienced anything like this, do tell about
it.  Thanks!

having trouble

I'm an insomniac the only thing I can suggest is don't get frustrated if you
can't fall asleep immediately it only will make it harder.  If you think
your having problems with being to e***d your heart beat being to fast
practice some relaxation techniques.  the best for me are breathing drills
on your back, that way you can do them in bed and don't have to move when
your finally ready to sleep.  I assume from your post you try going to bed
at 9.  On those nights when you know your going to have trouble get some
work done and try going to sleep a little later.  I'm in no way a
professional or knowledge in this area I just know what works for me.  I
hope this helps and send some of those sheep my way if you get some sleep.

A friend of mine told me the same thing but it had to do with swimming over a
certain amount.  Perhaps you could try to swim less and finish up earlier.
Its probably all the endomorphins.
