Suggestions for Swim Workouts

Howdy,

I am starting a swimming program to keep in shape during off
season in rugby and to lose some weight. I used to swim
competitivley (in Jr. High) so I am a decent swimmer. My main
goals are to build aerobic fitness, lose weight, and tone up
my muscles. I plan on swimming 4-5 times a week for around
30-45 minutes. I was hoping someone could suggest some decent
workout plans. Any other tips or advice would be welcome as
well. e-mail me and I will summarize...Thanks!!

Cheers,

You can probably find a masters' program in your area.

Ask the lifeguards at several public pools in your area about where masters'
programs meet.  Sooner or later you'll hit "pay water".

You will get coaching, motivation in the form of other swimmers to keep up
with, and directions, for about twenty dollars per month.  It'll be an hour or
so per day, three times per week.

The main disadvantage in my area of such things is that you must get up at 5:45
AM or something like that.
