I once swam in a lake- gave me the heebie jeebies!
How can one swim in a body of water that does not
seem to have a bottom?  *shiver*

Ha, a lake. How about the ocean where the kelp grabs
onto your legs and trys to pull you under, and visiblity
is good enough to see the schools of fish darting around,
rays floating by, and the occasional small shark swimming
under you.

Once you master that, you are ready for the night swims
where the only thing you can see is the glow stick of the
swimmers nearby.
