the east bay is a large mass
            and you don't get very
            specific about your
            specified wants....

so be more specific...let it out.

or call your local Red Cross or
YMCA Or YWCA and ask them to
        help....

University of Calif in Bezerkley has
a lap pool...in the Strawberry Valley

USF has one.  Several city pools.

many swim clubs in the east bay...Oakland has one.

Walnut Creek has a great lap pool

        Santa Clara has a few.

        so ask away...

        bill conduit
        etc.

This site: http://lornet.com/~SGOL has a long list of lap pools all
over the country. I moved to Sunnyvale and used it to find a half
dozen within 5 miles from my house.

If you're referring to the Oakland part of the east bay you might want to try
the newest pool in the area at Mills College, just off Highway 580 near Hwy 13
on MacArthur Blvd.  Mills College has dedicated the facility (10 25 yd lanes
and 5 20 yd lanes) to fitness and education, they offer 74 hours a week of lap
swim.  The Manatee Masters Swim Team makes their home at the pool, and they
offer 27 hours a week of coached practices.  For more info on East Bay Masters
Swimming consult the Pacific Masters Web Site at <  pacificmasters.org  >.
