thread  as  a  gasket?  Plus  any  other  things  i  should  becareful
about?  It  does  seem  simple  hell  i  took  it  apart,  but  then
again  you  never  know....  Advice  can  save  you  alot  of  trouble
and  time::::::::::::::::

Thanks  for  the  help

I did an engine like yours. The AC dealer said to skip the thread and
use YamaBond from a Yamaha dealer.
Just apply a very thin film of YamaBond to one surface and assemble
before it dries.

Steve:

I used to play around with aircraft engines a bit. The cases come apart into
left and right halves and the factory gasket on the mating surfaces is silk
thread. Cotton was not recommended, it wouldn't hold up when the case halves
start to fret against each other.

Skip the thread and use Yamabond.
