Hand Warmers

Post by Vola » Mon, 21 Dec 1998 04:00:00

I just purchased a Used sled to get into this sport and it came with hand
warmers installed.
All the wires look like they are installed correctly but the right hand one and
thumb warmer doesnt work.
If the wires look ok what other things should I check before I go out and
replace the entire thing?

Thanks for the help

Check for thermal-sensory function of the right hand.

(The threshold for a thermal stimulus may sometimes be elevated due to
chronic friction with an object)

Disconnect the wires that go to the warmers and with a Volt ohm meter,
measure to see if you have any resistance between the wires going to the
thumb warmer or hand  warmer.  They should read somewhere between 5 and 20
ohms.  Chances for both to be out are probably slim.  Check to make surethe
main power lead going to that side of the handle bar is live when the switch
is activated.
