98 Indy 500 vs 99 Indy Trail

Looking at two sleds for the wife....I have a 98 XLT.
She is most definitely NOT an aggressive rider.Coming from her 78 250
Enticer I know either of these will be a huge improvement but....(BTW,that
damn little enticers engine has never been apart since new!)
The Indy trail is new,488 fan $5000 Can.
The Indy 500 is used (barely) 350 miles, comes with cover, skins, belly pan and
a few months on the sled and an extra yr. left on the motor ,,,,,$5000 as
well (Canadian)

The indy trail, being a new fan would have one full yr. on the whole sled,
but no 2nd yr. engine warranty.
Comments, suggestions?
Thanks!
Steve

Steve, Either one would be a good sled for your wife, however, I'd go
with the Indy 500.  It's liquid cooled, the Trail isn't, and it comes
with a lot of extras.  Don't worry about the 350miles, that's just
like a test drive.

Steve,
Having just sold my '89 Indy 500 to a friend after years of "bullet proof"
service I'd go with the 500. It's got a bit more power than the fan for
those trouble areas and with the extras seems like a great sled.
BTW, I went for the '00 500XC to replace my old friend (the sled that is)...

Good point on the heat exchangers.  It does make a difference.  The liquid
motor will run better in a wider temperature range also.  Go with 98 500.  It
has CRC front end and allot more power than the fan trail.  You or one of your
buddies can ride it if you wife can't go.   The motor is proven reliable and a
solid performer if not at the top of the heap compared to the performance of
recent 500's.
