Looking at 1st sled - 1996 Polaris XLT Touring

Looking at 1st sled - 1996 Polaris XLT Touring

Post by Roma » Wed, 29 Aug 2001 04:32:40

I am looking at buying a used sled for some trail riding as well as
getting out to an ice hut.  I don't know much about sleds so I am
looking for general input on what I should buy.  I want a 2up so I can
go out with the girlfriend but I don't want to spend too much money.
Are touring sleds ok for going out on the lake? Etc.

With regards to this model specifically any questions I should be
asking, I don't have much info on it now.. Other than it was a
dealer's personal machine and he wants $3k CAD for it.  The dealer is
a friend of an acquaintance, this is how I heard about it.. Just want
to know whether it is a deal or whether I am getting "snowed" so to
speak.. hah..

I will post more info about the machine when I get it.. Thanks in
advance for any help..

Yep, this is an excellent machine for your needs.  Very dependable, and $3k
CDN sounds like a decent deal.  Make sure you take a look at and/or ask
about is the condition of the track.  Check for obvious cuts or tears.

Looking at 1st sled - 1996 Polaris XLT Touring

Im just getting back into the sport and after a *** divorce last year and
found myself with very little extra spending money. Two weeks ago i picked
up a 2001 Ski Doo Touring 380 Fan, In the crate. Its not going to break any
land speed records but it will get myself and my 8 year old out riding this
year. And for $3200.00 it fit my budget. This sled came from a dealer that
was going out of business but im sure you can pick one up cheep somewhere.
Hope this helps , Mark
