Minneapolis, MN (PRWEB) January 24, 2009 -- Polaris Industries Inc.
today launched its Model Year 2010 600 RUSH snowmobile, the first
snowmobile with a truly progressive-rate rear suspension.
The 600 RUSH's bottomless suspension is designed to absorb the
toughest bumps, transferring the load to the super-rigid PRO-RIDE
chassis which isolates the rider from spine tinglers. No longer will
riders leave the trail feeling bruised and beat up after a long day.
Polaris Industries Inc. introduces the 600 RUSH snowmobile with the
industry's first truly progressive-rate rear suspension.
The 600 RUSH's bottomless suspension is designed to absorb the
toughest bumps, transferring the load to the chassis rather than the
rider.
Equipped with the 600cc Polaris Liberty engine, the 600 RUSH has an
improved chassis and engine mount to deliver more power to the ground.
The 600 RUSH delivers aggressive styling, weight reductions and
improved reliability.
The limited production 2010 Polaris 600 RUSH will be available at
local dealers beginning fall 2009, and will be offered as part of the
2010 Polaris Snow Check program beginning in March 2009.

QUOTES:
Scott Swenson, Polaris Industries Inc. Vice President, Snowmobile
Division:
"The new Polaris 600 RUSH truly marks a turning point for the
snowmobile industry. The progressive-rate rear suspension has been
proven in Motocross; Polaris is now the first company to bring it to
snowmobiles. This innovative suspension combined with the new superrigid
PRO-RIDE chassis provides riders with an unprecedented level of
rider-active control including improvements in acceleration and
cornering."

Levi LaVallee, Professional Sno-Cross Racer and X-Games Gold Medalist:
"Polaris has really nailed it with this sled. The RUSH puts me in the
ideal riding position to transfer my weight for launch, and to set the
front end for cornering. It has wicked control and a suspension that
refuses to give up."

So..... If the rider is not absorbing jolts, that means the suspension will
create bigger moguls......

Funny thing is - those of us that are old enough, can remember
the same type of video made by Yamaha, when they introduced their TSS
front suspension in 1983.

To refresh those of us that are getting a little foggy, here's the tag
line from the adverti***t's song from that campaign -

"Yamaha ... the way it should be"

(disclaimer - yes, I bought the VHS tape from my dealer back then and I
would pop it in whenever I needed a fix)

One of my (dealer) friends gets to ride it on Feb. 10... it'll be
interesting to hear what he thinks; he rides hard.

Polaris is up in Old Forge, NY this week doing demo rides for dealers with a
fleet of Rush sleds.
Here's a clip from a local motel owner.

Sounds like it's going to be a "winner"... my buddy said the handling &
corning were excellent and the ride was amazing.

David
Reports here say it rides the same. No big difference than current sleds.
I had a chance to sit and jump on the Rush but no ride time as I'm not a
dealer.
Upper track rollers move with the suspension so the track stretches out
further on compression is the only big difference I see.
May be good for snowcross but trail reports say no big deal.
Chaincase protrudes into right footwell less than current Poo sleds but
still not enough room for my -100 boots to fit comfy to allow the foot to
move around on those long days.
A rain day here this week allowed me to hit all the dealers and check all
the latest sleds, nothing is beating my XR chassis sled for leg room
and foot room so far.

My buddy is a pretty aggressive rider (former roadracer and USSA
snowmobile racer) and he said that for someone capable of pushing the sled
hard... the difference is "night and day" from his '08 Polaris and anything
else he's ridden.
SuperTrax says, "The way this sled handles terrain is both different and
far superior to anything we've seen thus far in the history of the sport."
    Seems like it must be pretty good!  >;-}
