Ha, it's snowing like nuts in Southcentral Alaska... a full 3 weeks
ahead of the normal "first snow" date!  All signs are pointing to an
awesome winter!

It's snowing in Fort McMurray, Alberta too. Coming down pretty fair, but no
accumulation expected. No ice on the river yet, but will be in about 4 - 6
weeks time.

It's still a far cry from accumulating, since the ground isn't
frozen yet.  The daytime temps are still hitting 40, but the nights
are down into the ***s.  Won't be long now, and that two hours of
snowfall this morning sure got my heart pounding, even if it didn't
stick.  Change out the gas in the fuel tank, picking up a case of
2-stroke oil...

Uranium City, Sask. also had "Heavey Snowfall Warning" yesterday, Monday. The
report was 15cm in the morning with another 10 - 15cm during the day. Too bad
it is a long way from nowhere.

Yeah, I was grinning from ear to ear yesterday working outside with the
white stuff falling all around me.  Sometimes I really do feel sorry for you
guys that live in the lower 48.   But then I remember, that's just less
people to track up my fresh snow... =p  J/k

Well, when it is snowing 2-3 feet per hour (not unusal for winter storms in
Whittier), and it is a $30,00-100,000 boat, my guess is you could make a
sled payment or two in a day.  But like the song goes

Nothing could be Shi**ier than to find yourself in Whittier in the Morning
