Snowmobile Safety

Northern Minnesota is finally getting some nice snow for the season.  Most
of the lakes have good ice already, but many rivers and lakes have very
high water and their ice is not safe.  Please be sure to know lake ice
conditions before following tracks that maybe of water skippers.

Ely, MN had its first snowmobile fatality this year on December 2.  Night
driving and high speed may have been the cause.  Please be careful out
there!  Watch your speed, and don't drink and drive.  A very dangerous
combination.
