1979 Arctic Cat Puma... Good or Not?

I am going to purchase a 1979 Puma today (in about three hours), it has
been sitting for a while (year or two).  He wants $250 for it.  I don't
know that much about snowmobiling, but as long as the track looks good
and it runs decent I'm probably going to get it.  Can you recommend
anything else to look for (looks to me don't matter)?  What enhancements
would be a good idea?  I plan to mostly ride trails and my back-yard
36-acre pond.  Thanks in advance,
Phire

I believe mine was a 79' puma 440 fan.  It had a real short track with
cleats and not much suspension.  I had to add octane boost to the gas
because gas still had lead in it when that sled was designed.  Overall
it was a very dependable sled.  The only problem I had was the rivits
for the cleats would come loose and occasionally I would loose one.

Hey, better double check on the year. Cat did not make the pima in 79. They
made it until 73 or 74. They reintroduced it in 91.
