96 xcr 600 vs 97 xc 600

I am thinking about replacing my 89 indy 650.  I am looking at either a 96
xcr 600 or a 97 xc 600.  I know the xcr has lots of set up issues.  I like
the power of my old triple.  Which sled would be a better choice?  Thanks
for any info.

Is the XCR6 a sp? That would make it a triple piper in the aggressive chassis.
If its the monobloc XCR6 it the same as the 97 XC6. The 97 XC6 would have
power close, slightly better than the 650. Handleing would be much better.Dave

I had an XCR600 (1997) and it was a fun sled.  Triple/triple, case reed
engine.  The XC7 twin is a great sled also, a strong case reed twin.  If I
was buying another, I would go with the XC7.

just my opinion

96 xcr 600 vs 97 xc 600

I'd go with the xc 600 of the 2 choices. It's power should be equal
compared to '80's vintage triples and it's a proven dependable motor
without issues. Riding is relaxation time and I want to set it and forget
it.
I liked the power of the triple 6's I've had in the past but when compared
to my '99 700 it is way more entertaining for me. Other than the sound I
don't miss the third cyl. at all. One less cylinder to play with and
lighter in the woods.
