Ski Doo 700 and 800 Clutch spring recall

Ski Doo 700 and 800 Clutch spring recall

Post by Doug Bruche » Thu, 23 Nov 2000 04:00:00

I just got a call from Ski Doo saying that there will be a forthcoming
recall on the Secondary Clutch Spring.  I do not have the details as of yet,
but when I do I will post what I can.  Anyways, it looks like the balance of
the 800's are on their way.  My red 800 MXZ X should be here Monday, I can't
wait!

Ski Doo 700 and 800 Clutch spring recall

The problem with the clutch spring is that tbe driven pulley spring comes in
contact with the cam. The spring will bind on the cam hub. Essentially it
prevents the sliding half from opening completely and causes engine
overheating as well as reduced performance.
This is what my dealer told me.

I heard that sleds built after 11/15 should be alright.  Those before
are getting
a new spring for the secondary.
