No.

To enhance your book reviews, speaking extremely loosely, you might consider
that one persons opinion without any supporting information is not valuable to
thinking people.  You might want to consider looking at book reviews at
amazon.com or just do a search to get an idea of what most people expect.

There aren't any reviews on amazon.com.
I'm quite interested in knowing more about this book, care to share?

I'm working on a partial review and interview with the author for Rainbow
Ice and it should be up within the next few days.  I'll announce here when
it is.  I'm on a working vacation in Hawaii (it really is for work!) and
thinking about this book is the _only_ thing I can bear to do other than
be a beach bum or eat haupia, so you know it must be good to compete with
all of that.

You might consider that Trudi is hardly an unknown quantity on this
newsgroup. You also might consider that her posting was in no way
shape of form labelled a "review". It was a quick note, that she, who
knows a bit about the discipline a) thinks the book is worthwhile and
I assume b) wants to get started discussing the book with other
knowledgeable fans who've read it (and so encouraging said fans to go
and get the book and read it).

Were you especially trying to sound like a stuffy prig or was it
accidental?

Tsk, tak.  Now sounds like a prig?  And apparently a troll bait eater, too.  Do
you get dizzy standing up there talking down?

   Well, Slinger...
I do believe you've left out the germane portions of MF's post.  They
bear repeating:

On second thought, it seems you don't qualify for inclusion in the "knows
a bit about the discipline" and the "knowledgeable fans" portions of the
post.

Cheers.

It's hard to not talk down when some folks are so low.

My, my, another bite.  Have I reached my limit.  Plus a hissy fit, too, bonus

Oh, please.  Why don't you specifically point out what was so low about my
post.

Was it the part where I talked about supporting an opinion?

Was it the part where I gave ideas of where to find examples?

Is the person too dumb to do this?

Is the person too weak to stand my helpful comments?

Please, elaborate, MF.

The only reason I was as brief as I was was because I didn't want to take
a whole lot of time off the top to write a lengthy review at the moment. I
fully intend to do so later, as Lorrie does.

Oh, Lord, did Sling S**t attempt to lecture me about how to write a book
review? LOL! I missed that one; I started filtering him a long time ago.

Johns, you are full of cow poop.  I had nothing to do with writing
Ellyn's book.  It is her own work.  I am happy to put my own name on
my own writings.

Yeah, it was pretty lame.

Probably a wise choice, I used to take him almost halfway seriously
until he admitted he was a troll (a couple of times in this thread).
He can be safely ignored now.
