Why doesn't K2 have their 2002 Site up yet?
The address is:  http://www.k2skates.com
I've been waiting for so long.
It says: Coming in March 2002.
Hello!  March is almost over.

They did the same thing last year.  I even called them at the end of
March, 2001  and asked them if they were still in business cause all
the site had on it was 2000 models.  About 2 weeks later they updated
the site.

K2's 2002 line and web page is up now... whiners! ;-)
Catalyst is gone for 2002 although METHINKS it's now the "Xcelerate" model...
besides color, there is no difference.

The Catalyst is the Mod LT, except you can take the cap composite frame off and
put an aftermarket 4 or 5w frame  as it has the same base as the GT and GX

Xcelerate replaces the flight...

i'm glad to hear that. last year i considered buying the catalyst model,
but couldn't because of the frame being an intrinsic part of the skate.

yeah..its sweet..we had the base off in a couple minutes..it was very
easy..just unscrew the 2 bolts that reach down through the bolt...the Cap
composite frame is pretty cool though..

I will never buy another Skate from K2. I was skating along when all
of the sudden my skate buckled under me  causing me to go down
hard(thank god I had decided to strap on knee pads). When I recovered
I looked down and the mounting hardware had ripped off on the heel
side of the Skate. This was the second time this had happened (no
joke) and the third pair of Mod 10's I have been through. I took my
skates back to Greggs Cycle(local bike shop here in Seattle) and they
traded them out for a pair of Salomon TRVitesse2. Maybe I'm jaded but
the Salomon Skate seems head and shoulders above the Mod 10 in terms
of construction and workmanship. So far so good, the only drawback is
that the TR feels heavier and my feet look like a pair of angry wasps
=)

wade,

are you the same wade i see skating all the time on the burke (the one i
said hi to today?)
if so, i'm sorry, i didn't realize it was you posting here else i would
have said "hey" earlier.

i'm sorry your skates repeatedly sucked. for that much money, i agree,
the mounting hardware shouldn't be ripping out. i wonder why it happened.

I think the mounting bolts for the K2 mod 8/10's are too weak/small
for the frame, they were always slipping/sliding.

checking.....well yes that would be me =). How goes the battle? You
look like you haven't missed a beat.

The rep from K2 was there when I returned the Mod 10's, so I think I
can skip the ferry.

my frames kept coming loose too! i wonder now if a slightly longer bolt
and a washer would have helped.

hey thanks! i'd like to think all those wet cold skating days pay off.
god, winter was long this year. i'd like to skate to portland again this
summer, so i'm putting in the miles. anyways, out of everyone here
locally, i see you the most by far.

i see you are selling your bonts too. man, you sure have had some bad
luck lately with your equipment. bummer.

I was kidding..being that it is so close

bolts can be a problem with skates sometimes..i've gone through a couple with
frames, most times its finding the right washer and checking before each skate
regardless of brand....didn't skate on the 8's ot 10's too much last year..but
didn't have any trouble using some mounting bolts from the 10's on my Mod X's
(same frame as Mod 10, just different graphics) who knows..all it takes is one
bad shipment of stuff..
