Casting Grease on Ice

Here are my picks (yes, I have too muchtime on my hands today).  I'm casting
personality, not looks.  First the eligibles and then pros.

Danny -- Michael Weise or either of the Brians
Sandra Dee -- Michel Kwan or Josee Chouinard
Rizzo -- Nicole Bobek or Oksana Baiul
Frenchie -- Tara Lipinski or Roz Summners
Danny's sidekick -- Todd Eldredge or Lloyd Eisler
Other Tbirds -- Dan Hollander, Timothy Goebel, and someother upandcoming, or
Kurt Browning, Scott Hamilton and Todd Sand
Other Pink Ladies -- Andrea Gardiner, Anglea Nikodimov and Shelby Lyons or any
three pros.
The coach -- Toller Cranston

Danny:  Phillipe Candeloro -- handsome & a dancer

Kiniky:   Elvis Stojko  -- Go Greased Lightening!

(kiniky does greased lightening in the stage version)

Sandy:   Oksana Baiul  -- can do "good girl" turns "bad girl", art

                                             imitating life!

Rizzo:    Surya Bonaly  -- tough as nails

Frenchie:   Tara Lipinsky -- she could do goofy and perky well, I think

The Villain:  Lloyd Eisler (nuff said)

Villian's Girlfriend who Takes Over at the Dance: Michelle Kwan  (great
dancer, fun for her to do a wicked part -- casting against type can be a good
move)

The other Pink Ladies:  Irina Slutskaya and Nicole Bobek

The other guys in Danny's gang:  Timothy Goebel, Michael Weiss

I like these ideas a lot.

Actually, I can picture Oksana in any one of these roles. She can be a
good girl or a bad girl. And the Frenchie role is also appropriate,
because Oksana likes to experiment with make-up and different hair colors.

Other Sandy possibles: Katia (although the bad girl stint at the end
would be a stretch); Michelle Kwan (ditto); Josee Chouinard; Caryn
Kadavy
Other Rizzos: Katarina Witt; Nicole Bobek;
Other Frenchies: Liz Manley;

I can't picture Michelle being bad, but maybe it would work. Katarina
would be good in this role. Or how about Pasha???

How about Isabelle Brasseur?

Steven Cousins would make a great T-bird. And Ilia would look great in
the leather jacket. If Hough and Ladret were still together, they'd be a
good Pink Lady/T-Bird pair.

I'd like to see Tara play Patty Simcox, the cheerleader. I can't think of
who could be the jock. Maybe Michael Weiss, because he likes to work out
at the gym?

Danny- Michael Weiss (Perfect for the part)
Sandy- Katia Gordeeva (or Michelle Kwan)
Rizzo- Nicole Bobek (Sassy and a good actress) or Pasha Grichuk
Frenchie- NOT TARA LIPINSKI!!! It would have to be Oksana Bauil
Other Pink Ladies- Irina Slutskaya, Tonia Kwaitkowski, Katerina Witt.
Other T-Birds- Kurt Browning, Todd Eldredge, Evgueny (misspelled)
Platov.
There's my cast!
A true Michelle Kwan fan,
Jessie

You are SO right about Pasha, she'd be great.  Another choice for Patty Simcox
could be Nancy Kerrigan.  Yeah, Isabelle Brasseur would be a great Pink Lady.

Yes there is something quite definitely wrong with you - but it has
nothing to do with "Grease" or "Titanic."  Rather, it has to do with
being ill-bred, crude, low-class, and mentally ill.

I have not seen Grease, either, but it would be interesting to cast NG regulars
in the roles. We'd have to call it "***Grease on Ice," though.

So,you're saying you haven't seen either film also...
but I don't see where you get that everyone who hasn't seen either film
is just like you!!
