Hi group

I appreciate those who go out of their way to post the results to all of
us and if you like you can send them to your mailbox to review later.

As for spoilers: posting the results on your subject line is a bit much,
possibly just posting "Ladies/Mens/Pairs or Dance Results" on the
subject line would eliminate the need for spoiler space.  This would
give the reader a chance to avoid the posting until they viewed their
tape or delayed airing on TV and allow those of us who don't care to
read the posting.

BTW: some servers(mine is ATT)post within 2 minutes of sending off the
     message to the newsgroup.

The only trouble with using the subject line is that a lot of
newsreader software uses "next unread message" as the way to step
through the new messages.  So, you can find yourself looking at a
spoiler message without intending it.

    For accuracy's sake:
Shouldn't that last sentence read "...software ENABLES one to use
'next unread message' as ONE way to step..." ??
If this interpretation is correct, then logically one would assume
that a reader who doesn't want surprises certainly would NOT be using
the "next unread message" option.
Or, are there newsreaders which give you no such option...IOW, ONLY
allow you to read "next unread option"?

Cheers.

Most servers do.  However, it can take a considerable amount of
time for the message to get some servers.  For instance, when you
post at AT&T, the message has to wander around til it gets to
BBN-Planet (not sure what the path is), and then it gets delivered
to UofDel, but only if the server here is not too busy to receive
the message.  If it is too busy, the message is dropped.

The key is that there is not one server for the newsgroup - there
are hundreds (thousands?) of newservers all over the world.  Your
message needs to get my server before I can read it.
