Would gold kill Cohen's quad?

Sasha Cohen plans to compete with triple-triples at the Olympics.  If she
wins, will she ever land a quad in competition?

I doubt it. I'll bet she comes back after the summer
a grown woman, and we won't even recognize her.
It is pretty well known that athletic overtraining can
prevent a young womans body from maturing. But
as soon as she takes a break .... ka-blooie! No way
then.

I don't think it's going to be an issue because I think she has a very
slim chance of actually winning Gold (having never actually completed
a 3-3 in competition).  I expect her to place well though (among the
top 6-8).

If I recall correctly, she an Nicks were touting at Nationals that if she made the team, she would do the quad. Now,
obviously the game plan has changed. I suppose they now actually think she may have a shot at a medal if she drops the quad
whereas they may not have had that idea before......so, was it all hype for nothing?

Maybe, if she stays in for another four years and feels she needs it to win
Worlds in the future.

Frame of reference is everything.

Well Nicks said "I don't lose arguments with 16 year olds" and as
headstrong as Sasha is, I am sure the initial plan was based on her
insistence. He's obviously managed to convince her to do the smart
thing. She two footed the 3-3 attempts that I saw at Nats but at least
she was standing them up while the Quad is hardly reliable.

Actually, I believe the line was "I don't lose important arguments..."
