Junior Championship Series

Someone from AOL sent me some information about the fall Junior
Championship Series.  I don't know if this came from the USFSA's
bulletin board on AOL, or from some less official source.

The junior series will consist of 6 events:

Grand Prix St. Gervais, August 22-25, St. Gervais, France
Penta Cup, September 27-30, Budapest, Hungary
Ukrainian Souvenir, October 8-13, Odessa, Ukraine
Autumn Trophy Mezzaluna, October 17-19, Mentana, Italy
Pokal de blauen Schwerter (Blue Swords), October 24-26, Chemnitz, Germany
Grand Prix SNP, November 1-3, Banska Bystrica, Slovenia

The final will be held in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada (2/27-3/2) along
with the Senior final.

The USFSA has so far made assignments to St. Gervais only:

Ladies:  Shelby Lyons, Diana Miro
Men:  Derrick Delmore, Timothy Goebel
Pairs:  Vlandis & Guzman, Stiegler & Stiegler
Dance:  Joseph & Butler

Is the Ukranian Souvenir new?  I don't remember this event from the past
few years, but if it were a new event, I wonder why the ISU would choose
to hold it in Europe rather than anywhere else (why not the Israel
Cup?).  And where on earth is Banska Bystrica anyway?

It looks like this all means a lot of extra travelling for the junior
skaters as well as the seniors now.  Does the USFSA help finance the
travel to these events?

Slovenia's a pretty compact country,bounded by Italy,Austria,Hungary,
Croatia, and a little piece of the Adriatic.
