In the information age, why not cover it live

Hey, I just watched the Men''s finals live on CBC.  You know CBS should have
considered doing this.  In the Information age where all you have to do is
look at your local news group, go to an internet sight, or watch Rock and
Roll Gymnasitcs,  it would make more sense to show it live.  Maybe the
reason their ratings have been so low is because they hardly show any
events, and what they do show with the excetion of the live down hill,
everybody already knows the results.  We don't need to rely on CBS to find
out our information.

If we didn't have CBC on the satellite, I think I would have been tempted to
find stuff out ahead of time.

I certainly think it would be more exciting to cover it live but I have
mixed feeling about being up at all hours of the am especially on weeknights
before a 10 hr workday. Maybe they should show it closer to the actual time
it happened. I guess it wouldnt land on prime time though. Tough decisions.

Answer:  $$$$$$$$$$$$$$   We like to pretend our national symbol is
the eagle. But we know that it is $.  And there would be less $$$$$ in
live coverage, at least on the bottom line.

The time difference plays a great role in the scheduling here --
far less people are going to get up in the wee hours or watch skating
while getting ready for work.  The $$ pays for CBS to show the skating
in whatever time spot they choose --
Moreover, the local stations might have a lot more to say about
what is shown in non-prime-time
