Todd's quad: Maybe he did, maybe he didn't.

So, Todd landed a quad in competition, did he?

If he did, I will change my screen name to "ToddsGotOneQuad."  I promise.

However, since I am an infinitely reasonable and fair-minded person, I will
reserve judgement on Todd's alleged landing of the quadruple toe loop jump
until *after* I have had a chance to see it on the television broadcast.

It is, after all, completely within the realm of possibility (and/or
probability) that Todd's quad was, in skating parlance, "two-footed."

Remember all the hoopla and hysteria when Michael Weiss landed his first
quadruple toe loop jump at the 1997 U.S. Nationals?

(The jump was later reviewed on video tape:  The landing was two-footed, and
the jump didn't officially count.)

It is rather amusing, though,  that so many of you Todd fanatics were so quick
to dismiss Mike's quad attempt and yet you take it for granted that Todd's quad
at the Master's was clean.  (Wishful thinking, I know.)

And perhaps it was clean;  perhaps it wasn't.  I will know the answer when I
have had a chance to see it for myself.

Then, and only then, will I change my screen name.  Or not.

And we are supposed to care because???

Yes, he did!

Since when have you ever kept a promise? Your so-called "Word" exists only to
be broken.

Boy, that's a laugh!  You, reasonable?  You've always been many cards short of
a full deck and can only be fair about things that don't affect you personally
- which rules out most things.

 I will

And being as totally delusional as you are, you won't believe it even when you
see it.

Only in your bizarre fantasies.

There were more than enough people in the audience who could see Todd's quad
was clean, even people who are not yet ready to acknowledge that Todd Eldredge
is the Greatest Skater in the Universe!  But then, he does have it All!

Yes, but since your bitterness toward and jealousy of Todd Eldredge, the
Greatest Skater in the Universe, affects your ability to see straight, you're
not going to be able to see a thing, let alone a quad.

Well, you can't change it to ToddHasItAll - That's My Name!!

Well, as Ralph Fiennes said in "Quiz Show," "We can't all be Bozo the Clown."

ObSkating: The SOI skaters have portrayed clowns, although not Bozo.

To mail me, replace the double vowel at the end of the name with the correct single letter. Sorry to make it so hard, but I'm being spammed to death lately and I'm sick of it.

And do you also have the screen name MikesGotTwoQuads?  Just wondering.

Your envy is showing.

The suspense is killing me. Hopefully, it'll be on TV soon.

And I, for one, cannot wait, if for no other reason than that this
childish bickering over the quad will end.

One good thing it's done, though, is make me realize how lucky I was that
even if I couldn't go to Lake Placid that night to see Brian Orser's
triple axel at the Goodwill Games, at least I could watch him do it live
on TV. I didn't have to sit there while a bunch of idiotic jerks argued
about whether he landed it or not, hoping I would get to actually see it
soon and judge for myself.
