"Pasha" Not "Pasha" Yet

Post by Fiona McQuarr » Tue, 18 Nov 1997 04:00:00

All the news stories and repotrs (from Associated Press) that I saw in
this morning's papers listed the former Oksana as, indeed, Oksana
Gritschuk. Is she not formally billing herself as Pasha yet, or is AP
(understandably) refusing to go along with her little star trip?

Incidentally, the story I saw said that G&P skated to neither Carmen nor
Bolero but to something called "Memoriam". Platov fell down and it was
apparently kind of rough.

Cheers, Fiona
wondering what a purple muumuu has to do with "memoriam", unless she is
the ghost of a dead Hawaiian tourist

Just an idea from someone less biased against P&P: From what I saw on
cnnsi page, I thought that her outfit resembled those of female figure
skaters of Sonja Henie times. Maybe the theme of their program is
history of skating?

Yes they are :-)

Maybe that is the case.  AP refuses to go along with her star trip.
CNN/Sports Illustrated stated yesterday that she has asked to be called
"Pasha"...which they did in their story.

Evidently so.  That might just be worth the price of admission if they hadn't
won with it in the bargain.  Sheeesh...

LOL!  Actually, it looked like a sports jacket with biker shorts underneath.
Whatever...it was still bizarre.

I heard that her "official" name change will take place after the
Olympics.

According to the last issue of International Figure Skating, the former Oksana
has officially changed her name to Pasha. I wonder if she'll really go by
 that, though...

Ellen,
I've been reading this ng for about two months now, and there have been a
number of VERY funny posts and one liners.  But that one is the first one to
which I can respond:

ABSOLUTELY LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
