I think the USFSA made the correct decision.  Over the season and the years,
Meno and Sands have proven themselves and have earned the right to represent
the U.S. in the Olympics.

My $.02.

I agree.  I'm usually one that argues for letting the Nationals determine who
goes--but injuries are another matter.  It is too bad we can't send 3 pair
though.

I didn't think they did particularly well. After all he fell on the 3 loop not
to mention other mistakes,  Their artistry wasn't impressive either.  Meno and
Sand are far more advanced in the artistic area and have much more
international experience.

I'd like to know what happened to Shelby's costume.  Many times I think her
focus was shifted because of this problem.  Anyone know?

OH DEAR: No WAY- not even close- they are not even close to being ready for
Olympics.  There free skate was an absolute mess!  Jenni and Todd are
seasoned, tested, and world medallists.  I am sorry is you and they are
disappointed but it was 100% the correct decision.

No, we need to send good pairs teams who actually have a shot of medaling
in international competition.  Lyons and Wells are Not Yet Ready For Big
Time Players - I enjoyed them very much and I look forward to seeing them
again, but Meno and Sand are a better team and should go.

I'm just a little boggled at how Shelby can have passable presentation
when she skates with Brian, yet when she skates singles she
practically has *none*.

I was watching this on the teevee in our lounge at work.  Major wedgie!  Brian
caught Shelby by her panties on the way down from their lift triple twist.  She
immediately tried to fix the problem, but couldn't really just stop skating to
adjust her outfit.  I think she was probably a bit embarrassed by it, but after
a few passes on the ice just decided to skate on.  I was wondering... can you
request a reskate when your panties get in a bunch?  That Brian!  He sure
doesn't make things easy for his partner.

I realize the problem with the wedgie but I was referring to the white that was
showing on her cheeks.  At first I thought the costume was trimmed with white
but as the performance went on, the white got larger. Hmmmmm

It doesn't really matter, it was distracting but I tried to watch them as a
pair.

Does anyone else think that Shelby is very beautiful.  I haven't seen a face
like that sparkle since Katia Gordeeva.  P.S.  I tend to watch the men during a
skating performance and just noticed how pretty Shelby was while sitting in the
kiss and cry area.

Not to mention two World Bronze medals.

Maybe she washed it and it shrunk?  She really had a wedgie, and it was
unfortunate that she chose to wear white underwear, which was kind of
distracting.  I couldn't help myself, I started laughing watching her trying to
straighten out the bottom of her costume.

I doubt it.  It looked to me like the problem was the standard one
that happens to pair skaters all the time -- on the catch for the
twist lift at the beginning of their program, Brian got a grip on
Shelby's costume instead of on her body, which yanked it out of place.
This is exactly the same thing that happened in that other classic
wedgie incident involving Natalia Mishkutenok in the short program at
the 1992 Olympics.  Many of the other pairs in Philadelphia had the
same trouble to some degree, too.
