Pairs Skaters and loss of pairs moves

Pairs Skaters and loss of pairs moves

We saw the (I think) Czech skaters (names fail me right now)
who won Worlds last year at the Elvis show,
and they were fine, but Underhill and Martini and even Marvel and
Urbanski put on a better show.  I am wondering if pairs skating has
far too much emphasis now on side-by-side jumps, and the
really nice pairs moves (lifts, twists, death spirals) are being
neglected at the amateur World level.  I much prefer Gordeeva
and Grinkov, Brasseur and Eisler, Underhill and Martini to
any of the top 3 at Worlds.  I can't even remember their
names!
