In the recent post that I saw concerning the women that was shot in the head by
a paintball gun the article said that Paintball is fun for ***s. Well I am
four*** and I dont know what I would do if I was not allowed to play
paintball. And when I play at the Top Gun paintball feilds in NJ I am always
treated the same as other older players (I'm even yelled at the same way by
players that I shoot after they say hit). I was just wondering what other
people in this news group thought about minors in paintball.
Thanks,
     Jonathan

As long as someone is mature enough to handle a paintgun responsibly, there is
no problem.  Paintball is NOT an exclusively *** game by any standard.  The
article you read probably just used the term "***" because it sounds PC.
They should be corrected so that the wrong idea is not given to the public.

I dont care where you have been hit, I still think you should be 21 to play.

I think kids should not play.  Only people 21 or older because kids cant handle
the pain like us ***s.

This last weekend I saw two kids about 12 who were good - better then me.
They made good daring moves, shot accurately and did not overshoot or cheat
that I saw.  Just don't be the little *** that shoots your teammates in the ass
or clump behind the first bunker and don't move.

Whatever.  The people who cannot handle the pain are the parents.  I have
seen 8-year olds get shot in the head.  The parent starts stressing out (sometimes)
and the kid thinks it was cool.  I imagine the ***really hits the fan when
Jonny gets home and moma sees Jonny's bruises and starts in on papa.
Someone who brings their kids with them to play paintball tell me if this
is true because my friends and I have often joked about this.

I personally don't mind kids playing paintball.  As long as they respect the
rules and safety measures, they have just as much of a reason to be there as
I do.

I do however have a problem with these kids hitting the field with $1000+
guns, spraying cases of paint like it grows on trees, because you know that
they didn't work for them....but that's a completely different discussion.

I don't have a problem with 14 and up play, any younger and you're getting
a little dangerous.
Your field also has to be able to get insurance for it.
The big factor is maturity. I don't care how old you are, you can yell and
scream on the field all you want. But there have been instances where
younger players were just totally pissed at being outclassed, and do
something really stupid, like physically attack someone to let out his
frustration.

I once had to drop a kid because he refused to put his mask on during a
game. I'd yelled at him to put his mask on, and his response was "*** off,
I can't see through and I don't need it".
So I tackled him, rolled him over and sat on his head till the ref got
there. (never tell a 240lbs person to *** off : ) )
He was booted from the field on the spot. I f he had just said that he
couldn't see through it, we would have worked with him on that. But "I
don't need it" means the kid had no idea or concern for safety, and no
field needs to give lessons on how to pack the displcaed eyeball in ice
until the ambulance arrives.

door ( this goes for all the 25+ children out there also)

i'm 15 and from kids i know most of the arrogant jerks learn it from
their parents.  basicly i don't think that the kids are the problem but
their parents are.  i can't count the number of kids and friends i know
that act like morons and come to find out their parents are almost
exacly the same.  there are exceptions but most of the time i've found
this to be true.  its not an exuse by any means but i'm just saying that
its not always the kids fault...if you grow up with your male role model
being an ass you learn to be and ass.

I'm four***, and the first time I went to play last year I was scared of being
shot.  After I got shot and realized it doesn't hurt I loosened up a little.
Now I have my Spyder and I'm better than some of the older players (but not the
regulars, just the old newbies).  They treat me like one of the guys, let me
shoot their gun, excange info and stories, and everything.  It's like a bar;
everyone talks like they're friends (yeah, I've been in bars before, but not to
drink :-))  I say if you're not allowed to play find somewhere else to play.
It's that simple.
