The difference between the regular Spectra and the Spectra Flex-7
(including the ice) is the lower piece of the mask. On the regular
spectras, they are hard plastic, and on the flex-7 series, they are soft
***. You can get this lower soft *** lower part and replace it on
the regular spectra...

the main difference between the flex 7  and the ize series  is  that the ize
series  comes in different colors   and comes with TWO   count 'em  TWO
Lenses....the color of the maskin a prizm style(mirrored)   and a clear lens.
By the way  i have a moss colored (green)  ize  mask  with  a never been used
clear lens  and a prizm lens  that has been played with once(gets kinda dark),
the prizm lens has never been gogged!!!  will sell  for 65  and pay
shipping....i am looking at getting the Black ize mask.....Jay

when you have the soft *** does it hurt to be shot there more than when you
have the hard plastic.

Not really, the design lends itself to richocet the balls off. I have been shot
straight on and it has deflected. Also though, I was shot and it didn't. I
received a busted lip. You can make the decision for yourself. I will stick
with the flexible mask for the comfort.

Not really. The objective behind the soft *** is to make balls
bounce. If you have a hard plastic, like on regular Spectras, balls
break more easily. I've never been shot in the *** part, but I don't
think a hit there would hurt you, because they are a bit far from your
face...

It's not the hit itself that can hurt, but paint slinging through can sting a bit
(or, strangely enough, bust a lip in my case).
