I played with my new 99 Rainmaker this weekend & I was noticing
dropoff/shootdown during rapid firing. I went to the crono to see how much it
was dropping off. I shot 295, 296, 296 then rapid fired & it went down to 263.
I use an Apocalypse with output set at 700psi (the manual says set it at
650-700) and everything else is stock. I even tried setting it to 800psi & the
same thing happened.
Has anyone else noticed dropoff with a Rainmaker?
Does anyone know how to fix the problem?

Are you using microlines? They can starve the gun.

No microlines....the new one comes with a fat black hose.

its not the rainmaker... it s the apocolypse.......the regulator cant keep up with
the gun... try the raptor

I missed the first part of this thread....A Raptor will outflow an Apocalypse?
Somewhere I got the idea they flowed about the same....

Also, remember people. If I am not mistake BE added a filter into the '99 models
since any debris would***up the regs.
Doesn't take much to clog one of the inline filters up. It's atrade off. Change the
filters regularly or tolerate malfunctioning regs - if you get dirty fills.....running
air is no exception.....unless you use scuba tanks.

They're exactly the same reg design. If anything, the Apocalypse should
flow faster since it's 4500 psi fill gives it a steeper pressure gradient
across the reg, at least at the start.

Yes. The filter is in the 45 degree elbow on the side of the regulator.
I've taken that off (replaced it with a 90 deg, getting air from a 'mag
vertical ASA) the Rainmaker I'm reviewing and have had no problems.

I kind of figured, but not everyone out there knows that the Armageddon
and Raptor are, functionally speaking, identical. Just thought I'd
clarify.

thats right an apocalypse cannot keep up with a raptor.. it is not the same reg....and who
said that a raptor does not come in 4500 psi..... thats funny i have one.....the
apocalypse cannot keep up with my rt... the raptor can
