Stainless Steel, vs. aluminum, vs. ceramic coated aluminum

What are the main advantages to having stainless steel over aluminum and
ceramic coated aluminum. Stainless steel just weighs so much that its hard
to justify using it over an aluminum barrell that's a lot lighter.

The coeffecient of friction is much less.  They last longer.  As long as
the bore is straight and the finish is even and the paint fit is proper
it really doesn't matter much.  I use stainless because they squeegee
easier and because they weigh more.  Also, they usually look better.

You forgot to include Carbon Fiber Barrels.  What I know about them: They
look really different.  Very light and shoots similar to a Smart Parts
barrel. (A comparison I heard).  I shot with one on Sunday, very nice.

I don't really like the Carbon Fiber Barrels. To me, they
just look like a SP copy.  They're not really lighter, heck,
the one I saw had a Stainless back portion.  I don't know if
all of them are like that.  They might not be worse than an
All-American, but the one I saw was no better.  IMHO...
