Best paint for a Spyder 2000 (stock barrel)

Any suggestions?  I haven't got the marker yet .. should be here by
Thursday.  My 1st one and Saturday will be the 1st time for this old
man <g>

I just read some posts here and some people mentioned that in order to
be the most accurate, you have to match the paint to the barrel.

the best thing to do would be to try different types of paint until you find
the one that works the best.  By this I mean, when you play, use a different
brand each time until you find the one that doesn't get chopped the most or
break in the barrel....another good idea is to get a nice barrel that's
honed smoother than the stock barrel...this solves alot of problems with
breaking paint.

I have found that diablo's work well. the stock barrel likes small paint,
so diablos and proball work nicely

I don't know yet!  I will find out Saturday!

I just read a great review of the Spyder 2000 (in the April issue of
"Action Pursuit Games" and they loved it. No mention of the barrel not
being any good).

Spyder 2k was my first paintball gun and I actually did play one game with
the stock barrel. There was a noticable diffrence between my Lapco Bigshot
and the stock spyder barrel, its well worth the $50 for the upgrade.

Just for future reference, APG "loves" everything they review.
That's not to say the Spyder is no good though.
Chances are you will end up wanting a new barrel.

Already?  Geesh!  I guess I should just go ahead and order one of
those or a Dye Boomstick! :-)

Well, I am just getting started. How will I know if I need another
barrel?

Thanks,

When your skills progress to the point where your elimination attempts fail
due to the machinery, not lack of skill, it's time to upgrade. This is a
gray area but as you get better, you'll get a feel for it, a feeling like
"Damn, I could have killed him if I could shoot straight". A sentiment like
that sometimes means "get a new barrel" if yo'ure still using stock.. Also
if you are forced to shoot one paint all the time (for example, if the field
you play at is FPO) then you'll probably want another barrel to increase
your effectiveness on that field (to better fit the paint). Or if you've got
a lot of money to blow  :-) (If that's the case, you can send me some).

Lapco bigshot is the most accurate, lightest AND cheapest barrel I have
found for spyders, how can you go wrong with that!  Rivals 16" boomstick in
accuracy with Blaze paint, about 1/2 the price, and 1/2 the weight, plus 4"
shorter, its a win-win-win situation
