The Angel shoots faster than a Shocker, is more reliable, and has a better
trigger.  And the electro guns just have a higher ROF and better triggger
than the***er, that's all.  Personally, I love my Angel more than any of
my other guns.

Indeed, what Sir Alex writes it true: Angels and Shokers shoot faster
than manual-trigger markers. I, however, feel that electric guns should
be placed in their own category as they really turn the tide in total
elimination games.

When I played this weekend, only one opponent had an Angel, and nobody on
my team did. It was myself about about three other people as the only
semi-experienced players (our experience varies). This guy with the Angel
was about 15, and had absolutely no skill. He just ran around and hosed
everyone until he ran out of paint and nitrogen. I don't mean to bash
Angels, Shockers and electric guns in general, but I feel that they
really take the necessity for playing skill out of the game. As quoted
from a Viewloader Revolution on an Angel, "Accuracy by Volume".

I think I'll stick with my pump Sniper II. (I might get a***er, but
I'll never get an electric gun. *grins*) Oh, hey...I take that back...the
only electric gun I'd ever buy is on the Tippmann Hellhound. See: http://
www.tippmann.com/hellhound.html . You'll be impressed. :-)

I often see the same thing happen with Automags and Autocockers when I ref. Just
because it's mechnical doesn't mean they are going to aim.....

BTW, my teamate has that sticker on his Evolution, so there:-)

It feels good to return to good ol' fashion paintball posting!!!

I'm one of those people that kind of sits on the sidelines about this whole
ROF debate, the full auto/multi-round burst debate.  Your message just helps
me say what I feel about it, and it's this:  it really *isn't* the ROF, or
the electro-pneumatics, or whatnot.  It's the skill the really counts.
Unfortunately, that only really applies if everybody is using the same level
marker.  The problems begin when people use the more advanced stuff to
replace their lesser abilities.  I'm not slamming anybody here -- we all
begin as novices, and we all shoot like ***at one time or another.
Personally, I think Angels, Autocockers and Automags are all great.  I
believe they should all be on the field.  I also believe that they should be
used only by people who have the skills to back the marker up, not by those
who are looking to win by sheer volume of paint.  Play the game.  Have fun.
Learn the skills.  Then move on to a marker that can match your skills.
Don't do it the other way around.  Just my two cents.

Take care of yourself...

Alan.

All in all I would choose the Shocker, and I have.  They are extremely
reliable as long as you lube and take care of them.  They are extremely
quiet, and unlike Angels, dont chop paint!  In other words, I havent chopped
a ball in my last 4 cases.  Angels do have a faster trigger, but with a
do-it-yourself trigger job you can have your gun shooting just a fast as an
Angel.  With a stiffer spring and a small bit of something as a trigger
stop, my trigger is similar to that of an Angel, but softer and slightly
shorter.

Shockers are also extremely accurate.  This is proven to be very effective
if you are a master of pop shots.  When a Dark Angel begins hosing my bunker
I simply pop out and wail 3 shots into his hands and lense...  End of story.

The Bob Long***er really vary...  Someone on our team has one, and it
never seems to work right.  He knows Bob personally and has had him replace
many of the parts, and his gun still doesnt work right!  However, I know
another person who has very little problems and loves his gun!

Ill just throw in a bit of the Bushmaster too.  They suck, plain and simple.
I have played with a defiant and 2 bushmasters, and I like the feel, but
they CHOP CHOP CHOP.  Basically a cheap mans angel...  If you have the money
and want a fast gun get an Angel....

<<They are extremely quiet, and unlike Angels, dont chop paint! >>

A correctly setup angel won't chop much paint.  A shocker will break down more
often then a angel will chop a ball.

<< Angels do have a faster trigger, but with a do-it-yourself trigger job you
can have your gun shooting just a fast as an
Angel.  >>

This isn't true.  That is why so many shocker owners what the angel trigger
mods.

<<With a stiffer spring and a small bit of something as a trigger
stop, my trigger is similar to that of an Angel, but softer and slightly
shorter.>>

Shows the knowledge of this guy.  An angel trigger is fully adjustable.  The
angel trigger can be made lighter and shorter then a gun should be to shoot
fast.

The angel trigger is much better then the shocker.  That is why shocker owners
are getting angel trigger mod.  Yet, no one is selling or wanting shocker
trigger mods.

<<Shockers are also extremely accurate.>>

All guns are equal in accuracy.  This is just angel jealousy talking.  Not a
single person can give an intelligent reason why a shocker would be more
accurate.  All guns do is direct air to push a ball down a barrel.  How it
directs the air isn't going to effect anything.

Shot consistency and paint to barrel match are the only things that effect
accuracy.

Basically, buy an angel or wait until you have the money for one.  Then you
won't have to go to bed every night trying to make up reason that you perfer
the shocker.

The shocker also never seems to work out of the box.  You buy it and then need
to have it fixed.  Shows how much SP cares about making products.

Repeat after me:

"Hey ***!  Was that wimpy leg hit you just got on me really worth
the $8.50 in paint you expended to get it?"

You may be out but at least you have a couple of bucks left over for a
Big Mac and fries.

ROF is seriously overrated.  Spray and pray players just hurt the game,
nothing more.

*shrug* I say let em hose....
People at the field with their angels think  they are such tuff shit cause
they can throw, mebbe another 2 balls a second than me and my***er....
(Gen-x***er, very nice trigger....)
They dont hit because things get harder to hit the faster you fire....
At least thats how I feel...

Perhaps I was inspired by your silly "Angel jealousy" post elsewhere
within this thread.

If you disagree with my, albeit subjective, statement above, I invite
you to debate it on its merits (or lack thereof).  If, however, all you
are capable above is substanceless disparaging remarks...

Again:  ROF is seriously overrated.  Spray and pray players just hurt
the game, nothing more.

I watch a guy drop over 1000 rounds in one rec game with a stock***er.
Didn't shoot a single person and acted liked he was the greatest player.  He
talked the entire game.

It isn't the gun that makes you act like a moron.  Just an angel makes it
easier.

How do you define a spray and pray player?  What about volume fire?
(roughly the same)  How many shots per second would you have to shoot, and
how much paint?  I don't particularly like spray and pray either, but it's
all dependent on the circumstances.  If players *only* spray, never taking
time to aim or develop other skills, then they're missing out on some great
aspects of the game.  However, I believe that volume fire *does* have a
place on the field.  All types of players are needed, it mixes things up and
makes games more interesting.

Then kill them and they will be out.  If they shot you then don't make excuses.
Newbies also shoot a ton, because they are afraid.  They do it with rental
guns.

I usually only play with a hopper on my angel.  And that is for 2 games.  I
don't whine that just about everyone shoots more then me.

A statement that seems true with most people.

you only take a hopper because you know you wont last long enough in a
game but then everyone good goes home and its time to get out the pack
to play rough w/ the stingray owners!
