First Gun.. advice

Post by Ethan Rosc » Sat, 21 Apr 2001 03:17:25

Hello all..

looking for my first gun and have come up with two options....

Avalon Diamond GT Limited

Diablo Inferno Heat

the only reason I'm leaving the Tippman 98 off the list is that I still want
to have a bit of that special feeling, and have something a little different

...corny, I know but what the hell !!!

I also want to get an HPA tank (the guys I play with all use HPA and bring a
SCUBA tank to the games) and with my budget, the gun has to be under $200
(preferabbly under $150)

any / all advice will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Ethan

Good - 51CI Crossfire Stubby + PMI Regulator  (bout a 150.00 investment)

450-500 shots

Better - 68CI PMI Pure Energy HPA tank + PMI Regulator (about 175.00
investment)

Best - 68CI Crossfire Fiber tank + PMI REgulator ($195.00 investment)

roughly 700 shots...maybe more

Unless you lay alot of paint go with the 51 Stub....not too heavy, and very
compact

Thanks Big-T

I've been trying to figure out how all this goes together....

I think I'll go with the 51.  most of our games are played very close to the
tank, so I'm not worried if I have to fill a bunch.

I've spotted the Regulator and tank no problem.... About 150 together .. so
I'm still under my 300 budget.  Though how do I hook the tank up to the
regulator?

Where I stand right now..
Diable Inferno Heat (119 from National Paintball)
PMI Reg * stubby from PBSomeone..  (about 150)

looking good!  Though how do I get those three things to work as a team?

you can email me direct if this is too OT for the group.

Thanks for your help!

Ethan

If I remember you said something about someone having a scuba tank?  If so
the 51 will be MO than enough for some renegade PB.  Make sure you guys
chrono your guns somewhere and try to come up with some saftey
rules.....<the usual momma stuff> :)

Well the tank is regulated at 850psi.  The PMI Reg will***right into the
bottom of the Inferno's body.  Where a foregrip would go....

You'll have to get a bottom line adapter with some hose (braided preferably)
and connect the reg to the bottom line.  Then just***in your tank.

check this pic out and reproduce what you see....the drop forward is
optional, but basically the same setup.

http://SportToday.org/

This gun has the PMI reg installed on a bottom line/drop forward combo.
Your drop forward will bolt to the bottom of the trigger frame directly.
(btw...sorry if I'm needlessly going over elementary stuff...I'm doing it
just in case you are a first timer) ;)

Sounds good to me :)

ENJOY!

Next upgrade....9v or 12V revvy...be sweet on top of that vertical feed :)

Good luck

God, I've been looking for another VM-68 for months now. Must have one
again. Incidentally, does anyone know of, say, an online store that
actually is still selling them? I know skanline.com was about a year or
so ago, but that has since ended, evidentally. Anyone else?

Erm,

Infernos do come with a bottomline as far as I remember...

Revo (please Infernos shoot quickly) maybe a cheap drop forward (would make
it the backup gun of my dreams .. but who needs a backup gun ??)

I would think they did.....the picture he linked us to the other day didn't
show one though.  I would also think that would (or should) be a stock item.

I just got rid of my Rebel and it was a great first gun.  I played with it
for a while and it worked great.  I would look into the REBELS they are
pretty good starter gun.  Just trying to help.
