Any and all. The only pump I've heard bad about are BE pumps and most of
those reports are false and made up.

What is a good pump for someone looking to step down in technology from their
current gun?  In the future I would like to buy a pump to make myself better.
Thanks.

Ha!  The Hammer, Tracer, Maveric, are half plastic!  Look for a Phantom,
Sterling, KP-2, etc.  Phantoms are the easiest to come by, and are one of the
best pumps around.

The only option is a Phantom. There are other pumps, but the Phantom is the
best.

Phantoms are high quality but I'll take my sterling over a phantom any day.
Some other pumps to look at are the Sterling STP(just rereleased by
arrow-precision.com) Sniper 2(every one I talk to hates the 3's) Phantom, the
Grey Ghosts are supposed to be making a come back, old bushmaster, kps,
pirahnas, anything palmer, anything carter, hornet, maverick, pretty much ANY
pump is good.  I've only seen one or two that I hated(spitfire and diablo)

Well I love it and all but you'd have to agree, you just don't hear bad
things about pumps. (Unless its BE, because everyone and their cats left
nut know BE guns are crap)

The best guns will cost in the $200 to $300 range, but you won't be disapointed.

The Phantom : The Cadillac of pump guns.  Just too nice.

The SL-2 : Tippman paintgun.  What else do I have to say?

For about $100 to $150 you can get a Trracer (Hornet, Maverick, whatever),
but if you can afford it, spend the extra cash.  You won't regret it.

I have both a phantom and a grey ghost.  Both are great paintguns, but
lately I've seen some ghosts going in the $250 - 300 range.  (The
phantom runs about $200 new).  Personally, I think the extra cash is
more than worth it.  The ghost is extremely efficient, comes standard
with a bottom line, adjustable sliding trigger, and in my opinion is a
little bit better looking than the phantom.  The phantom is great
because it has the removable barrel, TPC bolt, can very easily and
cheaply be set up for stock play, and in my opinion feeds slightly
better than the ghost.

In fact, the only way to achieve pump nirvana is to buy them both.

I just can't agree with this.  Try any gun before you buy it.  I tried my
friends VSC phantom a few weeks ago and I plain and simple hated the thing.
Too light(used to my tank of a sterling :0) and all I could do was double feed
the dang thing.  They are built great and look great but man oh man do I hate
em(nothing personal if Mike Cassidy reads this :0)

That's my only real complaint about most any Nelson based pump.  I dislike
Sheridans - no offense - nothing wrong with them.
I need some weight.....Buzzards are nice :)

I would say a LAPCO Grey Ghost, but you'll have to wait for Mr. Thompson to
re-release them... :)

I know I am... :)
