Does anyone have any info on the J&J Ceramic Barrel.  I am thinking
about getting one for my Model 98.  I would appreciate more than "It
Kicks Ass" or "It Sucks"  Please give backing for all claims.  Thanks in
advance.

I have shot a J&J ceramic on my***er and RT, and am very impressed with it.
It is an extremely tight bore though, so if you do get one, make sure you shoot
top end paint with small bore, or it can break in the barrel.  The accuracy is
very good, about equal to any of the top of the line barrels I have used (
aside from maybe a lapco )  the range is good, giving me about 15-20 ft extra
range than a stock barrel.

overall, I was very impressed.  Enough that I am getting one of their 2 piece
Stainless/Ceramic barrels in a week or so.

I run one on a Carbine.  I really like it.  It has good range, good
accuracy, and it shoots through breaks really well. It also doesn't weigh
much(compared to my DYE SS!).  Hope this helps!

everyone i know has nuthin but raves for the J&J ...one of the shops the
shop i frequent is recommending them on their custom guns...they are
supposed to be very accurate and air efficient.

and while i'm at it.....where does everyone on this newsgroup come up with
the idea that lapco are such awesome barrels?

Personally, I have tried a TON of barrels, and have made my preferences just
from experience.  The LAPCO is a good tight bore barrel... but sucks bad if you
break a ball.  The newer LAPCO's are easier to shoot through a break, but it
does still get pretty ugly.  I found a LAPCO lying inside the booth where we
work at the field, and tried it.  It shot great.. as long as I had good fresh
small bore paint, anything else, and I was firing a paint shotgun.

J&J is my personal preference, because if I have ever hada problem with a
barrel, they took care of it.  If I needed something custom, they can do it,
and overall, I think they have some of the best supposrt for their products

I have the same problem with ball breakage. In the rare occasion I break
a ball in my Blazer, the lapco barrel goes to hell.
