FISA announcement

Just got this from Matt Smith this morning:  he is the FISAbod in charge
of getting their on-line presence sorted, together with Ron Chen.
Suitable links have now been added to my site index, and are active (I
have just checked).

FISA announcement

Post by Ronald K. Ch » Tue, 28 Nov 1995 04:00:00

Oops!  Knew I forgot something to do this weekend.  Ah well, it was
Thanksgiving.  Yes, the new FISA page is up and running, although
still under construction.  Some of the links to FISA publications lead
to null spaces, but the international racing calendar is there, as
well as the FISA rules, a directory of the FISA Council, and assorted
announcements from FISA.  As FISA sends me more info, I will add it
(such as a compelte FISA directory and perhaps items from FISA Coach
and FISA INFO.)

Once again, all RSR hands should be clapping for Ron Chen. Thanks to his
efforts, FISA has established a WWW presence--truly necessary for a global
organization.

Now if only Ron would stop his law teaching and get USRowing on the
WWW.... <g>

Seriously, I would help any efforts on this score, but I feel unable to
lead the way due to job/training constraints. Any other brave souls ready
to lead the folks in Indianapolis onto the WWW?

Cheers,

John

USRowing WWW Page a while ago, but when he tried to get help from USRA,
they had no idea what he was talking about.  You can look at the work he
did so far and maybe do something with it (Ron?).  The address is:

Just back from the Convention.  USRowing is working on a WWW site in
conjunction with a private party.  I will leave it to the author (who
frequently reads this group) to make the announcement.  Claus Wolter
also gave an excellent presentation on Rowing on-line.  Dan - your
name as founder of RSR was mentioned prominently!)

Ron,

Thank you for the update, too. A few folks had written me expressing
interest in pursuing such a project, but I am pleased to hear that
USRowing is taking action on its own (well, how much did you prod them??
;-)

Cheers,

John
