Olympic Volunteers revisited

Latest story I've seen stated that ACOG will be selecting 40,000
volunteers for the 96 games and other events sponsored by ACOG. You must
fill out an application with ACOG, who is distributing 200,000
applications this month. The story goes on to say that ACOG still consider
the amount of time applicants have donted to any volunteer efforts
sponsored by the Olympic Force (ACOG's volunteer group) as the major
criterion for getting a spot in the games. A deadline for applications has
not been set.

If you are interested in volunteering for the rowing/canoe/kayaking
events, you can contact ACOG's general information number 404-224-1996.
Or, if you want to skip directly to the source, you can contact Dottie
Rigby of the Volunteer Resource Center, 430 Prior Street, Gainesville GA,
at 404-535-5445. The Volunteer center is acting as a liaison between
residents and ACOG. I'm not sure if they are dealing with volunteers from
outside the area, but you can give them a try.
