Bedford SBH Flood Warning?

Bedford SBH Flood Warning?

Post by Trevor Chamber » Fri, 07 Apr 2000 04:00:00

I heard a rumour that there was a flood warning posted for the Great
Ouse at present.....can anyone confirm that and any effect it
would/could have on Sunday's mammoth 9-division event at Bedford?

Given that the course is downstream, I'll just look forward to beating
my personal best for '2000m' of 7:23 - erm... also set at Bedford,
two years ago.

On their website they say they expect conditions to return to normal
by the weekend.

Bedford SBH Flood Warning?

Fear not, the river has dropped substantially today to almost normal levels.
Some minor tree debris to clear from the course, but a working party are
gearing up for that.  The Longholme island, where many crews boat from, will
probably still be a bit boggy on Sunday so BRING YOUR WELLIES!
