should coxswains row?

A short while ago I lost a thread which included some discussion of
whether coxswains should row.  Of course they should; the experience
will improve their perspective.  For maximum effect the coxswains
could do more than occasionally switch seats with a rower.

I think all but the smallest colleges and clubs could muster enough
coxswains to actually fill a four.  The boat could be coxed by a rower
(imagine the pleasure of loudly berating four silent coxswains).  If
this coxswain-rowed boat practiced with some regularity it would be
possible to race against similar boats from other colleges or clubs.
Just make the last race of each regatta fours rowed by coxswains
(eligible if they coxed in a race) and coxed by rowers (eligible if
they rowed in a race).
