Winter boat storage...

I just bought a single and was wondering how other people store their singles
at home. Do you build a container for it to keep it from the elements or put it
inside? Will it be hurt in cold weather even if it is covered? In other words,
does it need to be kept in a heated place. If all else fails, I can store it at
a boathouse, but would rather not. Thanks!!!

Reminds me of a friend of mine. . . we asked him how long it had been
since the last time he went out on the water. . . he said not too long
(we knew better, that's why we asked), then when he went to put his feet
in the shoes, he found it a little difficult to get his feet in due to
the bird that had made it home.
