Concept II Model B--fair price

I wanted to know what is a fair price for an old Model B. I have inspected
the machine, and it is in reasonably good shape. It does need some minor
repairs.

The asking price is $325, the cost of repair is itemized below

a. new shock cord   $4.00
b. monitor replacement  $80-130(If you have an old Pm1 you can trade it in
for a Pm2)

I am looking at a range of $409-$459 for the whole unit.

Is this excessive?

Hi Meredith,

$325 sounds resonable for the B as is. But if you're looking at $459 as
a final cost, you're probably better off looking for a used C in the low
$500 range. For the extra $50 bucks or so, you'll get the PM you want,
plus the added extras of a quieter flywheel, a more comfortable ride,
easier storage, and you'll be training on the "competition standard" in
case you want to compete in any erg races.

Good luck,
Steve
