It all depends on the boat that you own. If it's a Hudson, then you can
get a cover from Hudson. Otherwise you'll have to buy one from Burnham,
or make your own. But after making my own, it still ended up costing
between $130-150 for the Polar Fleece (that's what I used) at something
like $5.75 a yard for the plain colored ones, and the velcro at $5.75 a
yard for the 1.5 inch kind (you could probably use a zipper, but finding
a good one, one that won't scratch, and is fairly long, is hard).
The fabric used by Burnham is fairly expensive (I'm guessing it's about
$20 a yard), so they are probably spending about $150-$175 on supplies
alone. So, yes, they are making a great deal if I'm guessing my pricing
accurately. But after paying someone to do it, the time involved, and
everything else, maybe they aren't making a bundle? But if you knew how
hard it is to make a good one on your own without having a sewing
machine right next to your boat, you might want to pay them the money.
As for a Filippi Wingboat wing, and boat cover, I am going to patent
that, so if that's what you have, you can pay me for the design. :o)
