Octopule Trophy

Octopule Trophy

Post by John P. Hogan, Sr » Wed, 11 Jul 2001 03:29:44

We are very proud to be part of what hopefully become
a new rowing tradition, i.e. The Mariner Trophy.
The Independence Day Regatta Committee had to cancel the Octopule race late
on Sunday July 1st because of heavy weather. But the two Clubs, Undine Barge
Club and Malta Boat Club, lobbied to have the race held yesterday morning.
Malta B. C. was the winner in a very close race. The pictures and story by
Schuylkill Navy Commodore Clete Graham are available on
www.boathouserow.org..
I'm expecting more Clubs to enter next year. All of those flashing oars is a
great spectacle.
Thank you
John Hogan

Congrats to Malta. Wish I could've been there to see it!

Clearly, it was the boat... :-)
